“Architecture is spatial inspiration — physically, mentally, and nature’s a huge part of that.”

The Beginning

Historical information about Seal Rock indicates that a trading post for the native Alsi people was located near the current Fire Rock Ocean Sky Healing Arts center.

Bill's Agate Shop

The predecessor to Art on the Rocks (later Triad Art Gallery), was Bill's Agate Shop. Many locals who have been around for awhile remember the original building on this site at Bill's Rock Shop, a local agate shop and one of the early businesses on the Pacific Coast Hwy in Seal Rock. The owners were Bill and Betty Maythorn.

Triad Art Gallery Story

Many locals remember the property as Triad Art Gallery. In 1991 - Quirina Kryger purchased Bill's Agate Shop and had it remodeled. She and her husband, Bernardus Smitz, re-opened it as "Art on the Rocks", which was a combination of gemstones, rocks, jewelry and art. In 1995 - Quirina had "Art on the Rocks" redesigned by world famous Architect Glen Small. The design was Small's interpretation of the coastal landscape, waves and dunes. Quirina also built on a new addition, which was called the Triad Gallery, hosting fine art and wine tastings!

Our Recent Past

The Triad Art Gallery was sold to Michael Smith who co-located the gallery with his Windermere Real Estate Office. Mr. Smith deeded the property to Leap of Faith, LLC in 2006 who owned it until it was purchased in 2020 by Fire Rock Gallery owner John Fillmore.

Fire Rock Ocean Sky Healing Arts is the successor to the World Famous Fire Rock Gallery. Fire Rock featured unique and custom made fire pits and tables as well as a range of art. Fire Rock gallery owner, John, fell in love with the building and it's positive energy, leading him to make the original purchase in 2020.
